Will you work with my Medical Doctor?

I believe that patients receive the best care when they access the services of a health care team that may include your family doctor, medical specialists, massage therapy, chiropractic, and other allied health care professionals. I will collaborate with all of your health care providers, will respect the treatment plans that they have recommended, and ensure that any treatments that I recommend will work in conjunction with your current medications and other therapies.

How long will it take until I feel better?

Because every patient is different, it is difficult to predict how long it may take for you to experience an improvement in your health. However, when recommending any course of treatment, I will discuss in detail what you can expect in terms of benefits, side effects, and how long the treatment may take to work.

Can I continue to take my medications?

Yes, you can and should continue taking any prescribed medications. If your goal is to discontinue your medication, I will work with your medical doctor to ensure that you can discontinue your medication(s) in a manner that is safe, effective, and will reduce side-effects.

How are Naturopathic Doctors different from other holistic health practitioners?

Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary health care providers which means that we are able to diagnosis conditions, perform physical exams, and request blood work and certain labs. Naturopathic Doctors are trained to treat all health conditions ranging from acute conditions (such as colds and flu) to chronic illness (such as high blood pressure and diabetes). Naturopathic Doctors are highly trained experts in natural medicine and employ various natural therapies including clinical nutrition, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, botanical medicine, nutritional supplements, homeopathy, and lifestyle counselling.
